Super Fast & Quick Install Guide

As with any Union Micro installation, we’re going to need three basic parts. An elevator, a set of doors and a Controller. The Interior Elevator Kit comes with all of these, if you’re using another style of system; please make sure you have all three parts.

This is the super fast and quick install… so let’s get started. If you get lost or are unsure, there is a complete install guide within this same forum category you can go to for assistance. This guide assumes you have at least the basic building skills to operate fluently within Second Life’s editing tool.

We’ll start with the elevator car. Rez the box in front of you, click it and select “Unpack” from the menu. Once the system is unpacked, you can delete the box. You have as many copies as you need, it’s best to just remove boxes we’ve used so our inventory doesn’t get cluttered.
Now do the same with your doors and controller, rez the delivery boxes, unpack the contents & delete the delivery boxes once finished.

Now we’ll get all our parts into position.

Rez the elevator car on the first floor (not inside the shaft or on the ground, on the floor it will be on). Now rez the “Controller” on the first floor in front of the car and finally the “Bottom Floor Doors” near the other two parts.

In edit mode, position the elevator car and first floor doors where you want them.

We rezzed the doors last for a reason, while the doors folder in inventory is still open, place a “Top Floor Door” on the upper most floor in your build. Now on every floor left in your build, place a “Middle Floor Door”. (These DO NOT need to line up or even face the same direction, just make sure they are upright).

With all the parts out now, click on each one to access the user menu and select “Read Config” from the menu. Once all parts have finished, click the elevator controller, from the menu, select “Test Comms”. You’ll need to be standing close to the controller because it whispers… too bad it doesn’t use llOwnerSay huh? cough cough Stylez cough…

You should see each door in succession as well as 1 car listed, if any doors are not shown, they are not in communication with the controller (the brain of the system) and will not work. Go to the missing door and reset it, then read config again.

Now click the controller and select “Set Floors”. Once that’s finished, click it again and select “Align Doors”. Click it one more time and select “Set TPs”.

Now open the elevators user menu and select “Install”, you’ll know it’s finished when it drops slightly, dings and opens the 1st floor doors… that’s it… you’re finished! Enjoy your new Union Micro system!
